What actually changes
A condenser is usually more sensitive and extended in the high frequencies. That can reveal articulation, breath and texture, but also fans, traffic and room reflections. A dynamic mic normally prefers closer singing and suitable gain, yet can produce a more controlled vocal in an ordinary bedroom.
Connection and total cost
XLR condensers such as the AT2020 need an interface with 48 V phantom power. Many modern dynamic mics offer USB and XLR, monitoring and controls on the mic. Compare the entire system, not only the capsule.
A quick decision
Choose a condenser when the room is quiet, you can control distance and you want maximum detail. Choose a dynamic when there is noise, reflective walls, shared use or USB convenience matters. For stages and parties, dynamic durability usually wins.
